I recall seeing that portrait of JH back in the day. Was it on a book cover perhaps? Or maybe a magazine article? Nice to be able to connect the picture to the photographer.
all those sheep at the canal seem to be looking at Fay, every one! what an ominous picture! Your sheep are not ominous, your sheep are more pastoral. I love the filter or whatever on yours, looks like it did back in the 1800's when I was young....!
Anyone new approaching and sheep will stare at you. They are like one organism. They quickly learn to ignore you though unless you have a pail of grain and then they will knock you off your feet. The light was quite warm though I may have increased the warm tone somewhat. Thanks
Thank you for introducing me to Fay Godwin and especially for sharing her portrait of one of my favorite authors and human beings!
I forgot to put this link in the post https://www.onlandscape.co.uk/2011/01/master-photographer-fay-godwin/ a very good article. James H must have been one wonderful person. I just learned his real surname is Wight. (If you can believe Wikipedia)

Now that you mention it I think I saw it as well, but I don't know where...
